Girls team wins award for its fair play
THE first girls football league to try out the FA's respect campaign has seen one of their teams given a fair play award.
Wincanton Town Girl's under 12 team, who play in the Somerset seven-a-side league, were handed the award and a cheque for £200 after showing the most respect to referees and playing fairly last season.

Despite finishing ninth out of ten teams, the girls won five times and drew once, a huge improvement on the previous season where they failed to win a single match.
The team picked up their trophy and medals at a Gala evening in Bridgwater.
Manager Becky Chapman said the girls were a credit to the club all last season and were now eagerly looking forward to the start of the new campaign. She said: "Although results didn't always go their way last season it was great for them to be given an award for playing in the right spirit and with a smile on their faces.
"They could certainly show some of the England team a thing or two."
The girls will put the prize money towards new kit for the new season, which kicks off in September.
