A CURRY Rivel teenager and her boyfriend raised over £100 for charity by holding a fundraising gig at Yeovil's Tabernacle Junction club.

Charlotte Cousins and Alex Moy, both 17, of Shadowideas Media and Events, sold 80 tickets to their charity rock gig which raised £119.

The money will be split between Papyrus UK (Prevention of Young Suicide) and the neonatal intensive care unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.

Miss Cousins said she chose to support the neonatal intensive care unit as her college, the Somerset College of Arts and Technology, is also supporting the cause and Papyrus UK was chosen because Mr Moy's friend Dave Hart took his own life.

The bands that played on the night of Saturday, January 21, were Losing Alice, Awaken The Silence, Kill The Conversation, Silent Empathy and Rise Of an Empire.

The Shadowideas Media and Event team consists of five members who are Alex Moy, Charlotte Cousins, Sam Buckett, Ashley Thrumble and James Quinton.

The teenagers started organising charity gigs last year and this was their third charity gig.

The group's first charity gig was held at the Yeovil venue back when it was the OrangeBox and the second gig was held in Glastonbury.
