Christmas came early at the Little Theatre, Wells when Wells and District Floral Art Society held their open meeting on Wednesday November 14.

Non Hobson, club chairman welcomed Wells City Mayor, Cllr Maureen Brandon and her consort Mr Alistair Glanvile, club members and their friends to meet and be entertained by David Ryland who's title Seasonal Splendour put everyone in the Christmas spirit.

David is a national demonstrator, teacher and judge. He is currently on the board of directors of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies.

David filled the stage will traditional arrangements, a red Christmas card arrangement, red stars and a white and green urn as well as more modern arrangements in shades of pink and peach, all the while giving the audience an amusing insight into his life in Cumbria and his travels flower arranging. For his final arrangement he filled the centre of the stage with gold flowers, while singing, A Winter's Tale.

Club president, Bobby Beauchamp gave the vote of thanks.

In December we will meet at the Piano Bar for our Christmas lunch.
