Gary Johnson: Some Yeovil Town players are not up to standard
Gary Johnson has conceded some of his Yeovil Town players are under-performing and that work has to be done to bring the squad up to standard.
The Glovers entertain Notts County in npower League One after cruising to the area semi-finals of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy on Tuesday.

Ed Upson and Sam Foley scored the goals that sunk League Two Wycombe Wanderers at Huish Park, with the visitors playing most of the game with ten men following the first half dismissal of Matt Spring.
Despite being pleased with progression, Johnson was critical of his team’s performance and their failure to build on early dominance by extending their winning margin.

The boss said: “Unfortunately a couple of our lads haven’t got what we are after at the moment and we will have to have a look at that. Most of the lads looked up for it, they looked like they fancied it at the start and we had good chances.
“But we have got to see out the game for a lot longer. I know it was against ten men and they sat back right until the final minutes when all of a sudden they have got nothing to lose in a cup game and Marek Stech had to make a couple of saves.
“But if we look at the stats I think we must have had 30 opportunities and I would have liked us to have taken more of those.
“It didn’t make for a great atmosphere at the end of the game, the fact that we couldn’t get that third one. We are through and that is the positive thing.
“From that point on (leading whilst playing ten men) you never get a better chance for the lads that haven’t been in the starting XI to go on and show what they can do, come out and be lively, strong and passionate.
“But that didn’t quite happen and the game petered out. The crowd did their best with the ‘oles’ but three or four of those are okay and then you need an end product. I wanted to see a bit more end product, to be honest.
“I am really pleased that our club is through to the area semi-final and some of the lads in the dressing room deserve to be there, but one or two of them don’t.”
The Glovers will be without winger Keanu Marsh-Brown for Saturday’s clash after the winger received his fifth booking of the season for a dive. “I thought it was a yellow card, he did dive and if you dive you have got to be booked,” said Johnson. “That is how it was and the less I say about that the better.”
Johnson added that Luke Ayling’s second half substitution was purely to rest the right back rather than through injury or disappointment at his performance.
He said: “Luke is fine, he was probably more annoyed that he came off as he doesn’t like it. I thought he had ran his race, had got up well and did his job well.
“He was a right back and a right winger. No professionals like coming off although they know when I am disappointed when I take them off and when I’m not disappointed. He will be okay and I thought he had a decent game.”
