Garden waste collections return to normal service following snow disruption
Somerset garden waste collections suspended during last week's snow disruption have now returned to normal service.
Collections were halted in Mendip, South Somerset and Taunton Deane last Friday as many of the county's roads became impassable due to the severe winter weather.

Services resumed in Taunton Deane on Monday and in South Somerset on Wednesday. Today, usual collections will restart in Mendip.
A Somerset Waste Partnership spokesman said: "We will not be able to return for collections not made during the suspension.

"Quantities of garden waste put out were low, as normal for the time of year, and so the collection crews and vehicles have been working instead in helping clear the backlog of missed refuse collections due to the bad weather.
