Garden coffee morning raises £270 for Chew Valley Branch of Arthritis Research UK
A coffee morning held by the Chew Valley Branch of Arthritis Research UK has raised more than £270.
The event was held in the garden of Liz Balmforth, at Bishop Sutton, and visitors enjoyed coffee and cake as well as a sale of cakes, books and bric-a-brac and a raffle.
The total was also boosted by donations from people who could not attend the event.
Organiser Jean Owen said: "The weather was very kind to us, and everyone enjoyed two very convivial hours sitting in the sunshine in Liz's lovely garden, catching up with friends and neighbours.

"Liz has hosted this event for four years now and the committee is very grateful for her kindness. It continues the tradition begun by Peter and Celia Handley."
The group will be holding their next fundraiser in the form of a coffee morning on Wednesday, October 9, from 10am until noon, at Winford Manor.
