Garden centre puts the shed in the spotlight
Sanders GardenWorld, at Brent Knoll, is hosting a Shed Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, and holding a competition for people who love their sheds.
Peter Burks, general manager of the garden centre, said: "Our Shed Weekend links in with National Shed Week, starting on Monday.
"Sheds aren't only for old pots and gardening tools. Some people use them for train sets, others convert them into offices and writers and artists use them as tranquil havens."
The team at the garden centre is asking people from all over Somerset to enter the competition by bringing in a photograph of their garden shed.
The photographs will go on show from July 11 until July 19.
People wishing to enter the competition are asked to write their name, address and contact number on the back of their shed photograph and hand it in to a member of the garden centre team. The closing date is 4pm on Sunday, July 19.
The garden centre team will select the competition winner – the photograph that they feel illustrates the most interesting shed – on Monday, July 20, and contact the winner.
The winning entrant will receive a shed solar light worth £19.99 donated by Luxform.
Peter said: "During Shed Weekend we will also be offering people who buy a shed a free potting table, subject to availability and while stocks last."
