Fury at hospital parking charges
Campaigners have slammed car parking charges at hospitals, with some NHS organisations charging three times the national average. The average parking charge per hour stands at £1.15, data from the Health and Social Care Information Centre reveals. But some NHS hospitals charge a lot more than this, with the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust charging £3. Calling for an abolition of the charges, Katherine Murphy, Patients Association, said: "It is unacceptable that outpatients have to pay so much to attend hospital, or that visits by relatives have to be rationed."
