Frome teenager Jordan takes wheel of the big rig
A FROME teenager has become one of the youngest people in the country to gain an HGV licence.
Jordan Andrews, 18, used to go out in trucks with his father Martin, who owns Valley Transport Services, watching and learning all the time.
He has now joined the family firm after training with WTTL in Devizes.
His father, Martin, said: "After gaining his class 2 licence I took him out in just a tractor unit to get him used to the width and handling of the truck, he then started going out on his own whenever he could daytime and evenings to gain experience.

"When he passed his class 1 test I took him out for the first couple of times with an empty trailer to get him used to the length."
Since then Jordan has gained confidence and driven several types of truck, including double deck curtainside trailers, flat bed, milk tanker and trailers for festival customers.
He also delivers milk for Arla Foods, in Westbury.
