Frome Running Club couple Robin-Mark Schols and Judy Bryant escaped the icy conditions in the UK as they took part in a race during a holiday in Australia.

The duo competed in the Melbourne Albert Park 5k race, taking runners on a scenic route round the city's Albert Park Lake. Schols completed the course in 21mins 34secs, with Bryant following in 29:00.

Much closer to home, nine Frome RC members took part in the Longleat 10k.

First home for Frome was Ted Sprules (MV50) in 40:25, followed by Jerry Rayner (40:50), Kevin Paine (47:22), John Boulton (MV50, 51:17), Stacey Burgess (54:37), Zoe Boulton (54:40), Laura Rider-Steers (56:16), Gemma Bull (1:02:27) and Alex Scorgie (1:02:42).

Ian Holmes and Jacqui Betts took on the challenge of the 20th Blackmore Vale Half Marathon.

The scenic event, which has a real sting in the tail with a testing hill in the final mile, saw Holmes finish in 1:32:14 and Betts in 1:53:42.
