Frome Town hold Chesham in action-packed Evostik League Southern clash
MATCH REPORT: Chesham 1 (Wales 47) Frome Town 1 (Smith 18)
An entertaining match resulted in two goals, two red cards, some outstanding saves and eventually a share of the spoils as Frome Town came away from Chesham United with a 1-1 draw.
The visitors were without the injured Tom Evans, Mike Reaney and Rob Hobbs but were boosted by the return of Luke Ballinger, while Ricky Hulbert also made his first start after a 12-month sabbatical in New Zealand.
Frome started very brightly, with Mike Perrott forcing Shane Gore into a save and Ballinger rattling the bar from 30 yards before they took an 18th-minute lead. Darren Jefferies released Ricky Hulbert, whose shot rebounded for Matt Smith to tuck home.

Hulbert had another chance when he raced onto a ball that bounced over the home full-back but his shot was saved down low by Gore.
It was Darren Chitty's turn to pull off an amazing save at the other end soon after, diving full length to push Inih Effiong's 20-yard volley around the post for a corner.
Chances continued to come at both ends, with Smith volleying just over after good combination play between Jefferies and Hulbert before Chitty was twice tested in quick succession by long-range efforts from Toby Little.
Frome had a big shout for a penalty just before half-time when Mark Cooper was bundled over by Gore but nothing was given and the score remained at 1-0.
It was all square two minutes into the second half, however, as Simon Thomas set up Steve Wales to fire home superbly from the edge of the box.
Chesham's Chris Watters saw a cross land on the top of the Frome bar, then Chitty once again denied Little on the hour mark but chances were becoming fewer as the heavy pitch began to take its toll.
Both teams were reduced to ten men with seven minutes to go after an outrageous challenge by John Kyriacou on Ballinger. The Chesham player was shown a straight red card and Frome's Josh Brigham was also dismissed for his part in the subsequent melee.
The last chance fell to Chesham as Effiong brought another great save from Chitty but nobody was there to turn the ball home and the referee's whistle blew shortly afterwards.
The H&B Tyres man of the match award was awarded to Dave Thompson for an outstanding performance at the heart of the Frome defence.
