Frome Town put up a fight against leaders Poole Town
MATCH REPORT: Frome Town 1 Poole Town 3
Frome Town were unable to prevent Poole Town returning to the top of the Calor League Southern Premier Division last night.
However, the Robins put up a real fight against quality opposition and played their part in a good match.
Frome's injury jinx struck again, with on-loan Swindon Town midfielder Alex Ferguson missing the match after picking up a knock in Saturday's win at Banbury.
Poole took the lead through Dan Cann before Josh Ford sent a free header over from close range and Conor Waldon saw a curling effort brilliantly saved.
Rhys Baggridge deservedly equalised for the Robins with a header but former Frome player Steve Devlin restored the visitors' lead from the penalty spot before half-time.
Will Spetch grabbed a third after the break to kill off the challenge of Frome, who are at home to Arlesey on Saturday (3pm).
It is national non-league day and the Robins are offering all season-ticket holders from clubs in leagues higher than the Calor Premier Division entry at either £6 or £3 on production of their season ticket.
Entry for all children is free.
