Frome College: What an amazing day to take a surfing lesson
AS part of the Year 9 Big Day out, 12 of us chose to go to Croyde Bay for a surfing lesson. The weather was amazing and in the sea was the perfect place to be.
Croyde Bay is in North Devon just down the coast from Woolacombe.
We arrived in the small village and changed into wetsuits at the surf school. The instructors led us to the beautiful beach where we were given boards and a short lesson, the rest we had to learn in the water.
After help from the instructors and several failed attempts and about an hour and a bit practice, everyone had definitely improved and most of us managed to stand up on our boards. Sooner than we all wanted we left the beach and had ice creams and pasties back at the surf school.
The day was awesome and I'm looking forward to next time when hopefully I'll be better.
Many thanks to Mr Haines, Mr Knight, Mrs Cooper and Mr Howlett for giving us this awesome opportunity.
