Fraudster faces jail for Somerset cashpoint card scam worth millions
A fraudster who admitted to a £3 million card-skimming scam in Somerset was caught red-handed when he returned to collect part of his high-tech con.
Leonid Rotaru, 32, of Bridgwater, now faces jail for the crime, in which cash cards were scanned by a device fitted to a cashpoint at Tesco in Minehead.
After his arrest, police discovered he had obtained about 9,000 bank card PIN numbers.
The case was heard at Taunton Crown Court and a sentencing date has not yet been set. Rotaru, who pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud, is in custody.
