Footballer Damien Duff marries his bride in town
Midsomer Norton played host to a celebrity wedding last week when Republic of Ireland international and Fulham footballer Damien Duff married his girlfriend Elaine in the town.
The winger married at 3pm at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in the town centre on Thursday, June 17, surrounded by about 100 guests including Celtic striker Robbie Keane and his wife Claudine and Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given and his wife Jane.
The wedding party travelled into the town from Babington House on two open-top buses and pulled up in the High Street to the surprise of shoppers. A reception was held at Babington House.
It caused quite a stir in the town with crowds gathering to watch the happy couple come out of the church for pictures. Robbie Keane also signed autographs for children.
