Flood warnings issued in Somerset after 60mph storms hit coastal areas
Coastal areas of Somerset have been hit by flooding caused by a combination of high tides and stormy weather today.
Gusts of up to 60mph battered the coastline this morning, forcing the Met Office to issue a severe weather warning and the Environment Agency to put several flood warnings in place.

The strong westerly winds, combined with some of the year's highest tides, have made conditions particularly hazardous near sea walls.
By 2pm this afternoon, the Environment Agency had five separate flood warnings in place along the Somerset coast.

Residents of seafront properties in Blue Anchor - between Watchet and Minehead - and Clevedon were warned to beware of "overtopping and onshore flooding as a result of high water levels combined with high energy waves".
The Blue Anchor warning was in place along the stretch of coastline between Sea Lane End and Blue Anchor Hotel, including Blue Anchor Chalets, the Smugglers Hotel and other low lying properties on the seafront.
The warning at Clevedon covered the stretch of the coast between Gullhouse Point and Marine Parade, including Marine Lake, Elton Road and The Beach.
A third warning was in place at Porlock Weit between Gore Point and Hurlestone Point, and included properties on the lockside as well as businesses around the Harbour Master's office.
Residents of other low-lying properties along the B3225 at Porlock Weir were also told to be on alert.
The North Somerset coast at Portishead and Portbury Dock was also issued with a flood warning between Portishead Point and Avonmouth including Woodlands Road, Portishead Ashlands Nature Reserve and the Royal Portbury Dock.
A fifth warning was in place along the tidal River Avon at Pill and Shirehampton.
The Met Office's severe weather warning is in place for the rest of today and covers Cornwall, the North Devon coast and the Somerset coast.
