Flood warnings and alerts in place across Somerset after night of heavy rain
Torrential overnight rain has left many parts of Somerset on flood alert this morning.
More than 30mm of rain fell in 12 hours over some parts of the county last night and, as of 8am this morning, the Environment Agency had 24 warnings and 50 alerts in place across the South West.

River Tone water levels are rising at Greenham, near Wellington
One warning was issued between Combe Sydenham and Williton after water levels rose on the Monksilver Stream at Williton and Doniford Stream at Doniford.
With a further 20mm of rain expected this morning, a warning was issued on the River Tone (upper) from Waterrow to Bishops Hull, with river levels at Greenham rising.

Water levels rose on the Winford Brook at Chew Magna, as did the River Chew at Compton Dando.
Another warning was issued for the River Isle from Chard Reservoir to Hambridge, with water levels rising at Donyatt and Ashford Mill.
River levels on the River Parrett at Chiselborough were reported to have peaked, but were expected to rise overnight in response to the forecast rainfall.
River levels on the River Parrett at Gawbridge were also rising, and a flood warning was issued for the River Parrett (upper) from South Perrott to Thorney.
A warning for the River Axe (Upper) included the South Somerset areas of Chard Junction and Winsham.
