Flood risk in Langport area as further heavy rain is forecast
Flood alerts have been issued by the Environment Agency as heavy rain again threatens South Somerset, particularly around Langport.
People in low lying areas, especially the moors around Muchelney and Thorney, are being urged to be prepared for the possibility of further flooding.
Today and over the weekend more rain is expected to fall and the Rivers Yeo and Parrett could be affected.
The Environment Agency said: "The water levels in the rivers, drains and on the moors are gradually falling, assisted by the operation of our pumps.

"Risks from flood water remain particularly to low lying buildings, roads, and the moors around Muchelney, and Thorney.
