Flood alert on River Parrett: Crewkerne, Martock and Langport

A flood warning has been issued for a section of River Parrett by the Environment Agency.

The warning covers the section of the river that runs from South Perrott near Crewkerne to Thorney near Langport.

A spokesman for the Environment Agency said today: "Up to 25 mm of rain has fallen across the area during the last 12 hours.

"A further 25mm of rainfall is forecast between from this afternoon to 6am tomorrow.
