Festive park party raises £1,000 for village events

Hundreds of people have enjoyed mulled wine and music during Peasedown Christmas in the Park.

The event, which is the third of its kind, was held in Beacon Hall and included entertainment from Bath Spa Brass Band.

There was also a raffle, which included a whole range of prizes donated by businesses, such as four tickets to a Bath Rugby game, a signed England rugby shirt and a meal for two at the Wheatsheaf, in Combe Hay.

One of the organisers, Jo Davis, said it had been a resounding success.

She said: "We wanted to hold a Christmas event that brought the community together.

"Similar to Party in the Park, we wanted to give people the chance to meet their neighbours and make new friends.

"The evening certainly did all of this with its magical feel and a special visit from Father Christmas."

The festive party raised almost £1,000, which will be used to fund future Peasedown events.
