Fatal road accident numbers have fallen in North Somerset
The number of people killed or seriously injured on North Somerset roads has fallen, according to the latest road traffic accident statistics.
The Department for Transport figures show that those killed or seriously injured are down from 57 in 2010 to 46 in 2011.
The latest figures show a 19 per cent reduction, against a national increase of 2 per cent over the same period.
North Somerset Council, which is responsible for the 1,100km of roads across the district, welcomed the new figures but stressed it is not complacent and more needs to be done.
