Police have renewed an appeal for information following the accident which claimed the life of Midsomer Norton grandfather Larry Dando.

Officers investigating the accident are trying to trace a man they believe was in the Bath New Road area of Radstock area at around 4.20am on Sunday, January 20.

Emergency services were called to the spot, near the hand car wash, after 67-year-old Mr Dando had been struck by a vehicle travelling along the road.

Keen runner Mr Dando is thought to have been walking towards Radstock when the accident happened.

CCTV footage shows that a few minutes before the collision took place, a second pedestrian had been walking in the same direction.

Police want to speak to him as he may have information that could help with investigations into what happened.

The man was dressed in dark clothing and may have been carrying a sports bag as he walked in the road itself.

The man is asked to contact police at Radstock on the force number 101.

The Avon coroner opened an inquest into Mr Dando's death last Friday and adjourned the matter while investigations continue.

● Mr Dando was a grandfather of three, not of four, as we reported last week. We apologise for any distress caused by this error.
