Family escapes burning car but Christmas presents destroyed in motorway fire
A family of five from Somerset escaped unscathed from their car after it caught fire on a motorway – but watched helplessly as their Christmas presents went up in flames.
The parents and three young children were near the end of their journey from Somerton in Somerset to Swindon in Wiltshire.

They pulled over as the fire began between junctions 17 and 16, between Chippenham and Swindon, at around 4.20pm on Christmas Eve.
