Fame was a magic show
I WRITE to congratulate all those concerned and involved in the recent Bridgwater Town Hall performance of Fame the Musical by ACTS.
I, along with my mayoress and civic party, attended the performance and were treated to two hours of excellent entertainment.
In my civic capacity, I am invited to many diverse performing arts functions and it is a source of continuing amazement to me that our town can keep raising the standard year in, year out.
When I see the carnival concerts, pantomime, operatics and the local drama groups perform I very often reflect that I have attended shows in West End theatres which have not been equal to the offerings of some of our homegrown entertainers.
The ACTS performance was wonderful, with all of the cast demonstrating why ACTS is gaining such a good reputation.
On behalf of myself, the mayoress and all of the town's people may I say well done again to all those performers and backstage staff and trainers who made it all possible.
Throughout the performance one young entertainer sang a song called I Want to Make Magic. I would like to say to ACTS, from where I was sat, you certainly did.
Councillor Bill Monteith Bridgwater mayor
