Exhibition at gallery as art courses begin
AS a grand start to the autumn term three artists are staging an exhibition in Cheddar.
At Chestnut Farm Studio, Sara Parsons, Tina Hill and Gail Mason will be showing a selection of their work, during a weekend of art music and paintings.
The show will be open from 7pm to 9pm tomorrow, with live music accompaniment with other musicians booked for various times during the weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday the studio will be open from 10am to 5pm each day, with the Barley Rye singers among those booked for 3pm on Saturday.
In addition to the exhibition the studio's new term of courses is beginning in the week starting September 9.
Two pay as you go classes are running at £6 per class.
On Mondays there is a portrait group from 7pm to 9pm, working from life in any medium.
A regular art group meets on Thursday mornings from 10am to 12.15pm.
Participants will be guided in observational studies and encouraged to experiment with materials, techniques and ideas.
The studio also runs ceramics classes on Mondays, from 10am to 12.30pm, or 1.30pm to 4pm, or Wednesdays, from 6.30pm to 9pm.
It is a 14-week course and is £175 to include firings and most materials.
One-off workshops will be running on Saturdays on subjects including anodised aluminium, willow sculpture, clay head modelling, beadwork and felting.
All yet to be finalised, they will cost £40 a day which includes materials and lunch.
Life drawing days have been organised at Church House, in Cheddar on September 14, October 5, November 2 and December 14.
They run from 10am to 4pm and are £20 a day with a shared lunch.
