English to rule Welsh airwaves in cash row
The Welsh language radio station BBC Radio Cymru is today set to broadcast some English language music because of a dispute over royalty payments. More than 300 artists are calling for a fair price for Welsh music in a dispute that began five years ago when a change by the Performing Rights Society led many artists to claim their payments were cut by up to 85 per cent. Today, rights transfer from PRS to Eos, requiring new agreements to use music.
