Driver and dog rescued from flood water after ignoring A361 road closure signs
Another driver has been rescued from flood water after ignoring road closure signs on the A361 between Burrowbridge and East Lyng.
The road was closed earlier this week due to rising flood water on the Somerset Levels, and motorists were warned not to ignore the notices in place.
At around 10.20pm last night, a specialist water rescue team was called out to a stretch of the road near Burrowbridge to rescue a person and a dog from a vehicle.
The Bridgwater crew returned the driver and dog to dry land unharmed, and passed over the incident to the police.

“Fine them, inform their insurance company, so they can't claim and put up the cost for the rest of us! People who do this should also be banned from driving, as they don't seem to have enough intelligence to drive properly and safely. Total idiot, name and shame them.”
