Driver dies in collision between car and lorry on A37 at Chelwood

One person has died in a collision between a car and a lorry on the A37 in the Chew Valley this afternoon.

The two vehicles collided at around 2pm on the stretch of the road through Chelwood and the driver of the car died at the scene, police said.

    The A37 at Chelwood was closed following the collision at around 2pm today

Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes and avoid the area this afternoon.

The road has been closed while officers carry out collision investigation work, and is not expected to reopen until 5pm at the earliest.
