A DRIVER had to be cut free from their car after crashing into a tree in Weston-super-Mare.

Emergency crews from the resort were called to the junction of Locking Road and Chelswood Avenue at 2.36am yesterday morning.

Firefighters had to cut the man out of the vehicle and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
