Dragon backs Bucking Bronco
Local group of ladies take on the £50 challenge for Children’s Hospice South West which is supported by Deborah Meaden, Dragons Den Investor and successful entrepreneur.
Hannah Rubidge, spokeswoman for the event, said: "The idea is to put all our business skills and innovation together to help raise as much money as possible for this fantastic local charity."
"We have been presented with a £50 start up investment and it is now over to us to turn this into a success."
"We have three months to create a range of different activities and while we are not quite up to rowing across the Atlantic like Elliott Dale and Chris Walters will be for the same charity, through 3,246 miles of the most unpredictable and dangerous ocean, we can predict that the Bucking Bronco evening taking place at Cheddar Football Club on November 16 will be just as exhilarating but without the risk.
"We are looking to sell 150 tickets and with the tremendous support from Cheddar Sports and Social Club we are hoping to have a sell out!"
Children’s Hospice South West help build precious memories for families whose children are living with life limiting or threatening conditions.
They solely rely on the generosity and efforts of the community.
Anything and everything makes such an impact on the children and their families, raising a smile that is priceless.
The hospice typically supports 151 children and their families with short respite breaks, emergency care provision and one to one specialist care.
With over 1,000 life-limited children across the South West, their support for families is absolutely vital. The hospice aims provide fun times through play, music, outings and crafts, the simple pleasure that many of us take for granted and an atmosphere where they can be families again.
Hannah said: "We are hoping a make a contribution to this life changing charity through our Bucking Bronco event. Rising to the challenge the theme is aimed at having an enjoyable evening with lots of fun and laughter.
"Contestants will try and put their wits against the bucking bronco and the more attempts they make to hang on the more we raise for charity.
"Local singers Lauren and Sam will also be providing live entertainment throughout the evening."
Tickets are £5 including supper, the event takes place on the November 16 at the Cheddar Football Club from 7pm until late. Tickets are on sale from Jill Male 07791601886 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
