Don't risk it: Motorists warned against driving through flooded roads
Drivers considering driving through floods on roads in Somerset today are being told not to risk it by police.
Avon and Somerset Police are warning drivers to take extra care on the roads, and said some motorists have already become stranded in deep water this morning.
"There have been reports of spray and surface water across Avon and Somerset," said a spokesman.
"Please allow extra time for your journey and consider if you really need to travel this morning.

"If you do, motorists are reminded to avoid going through deep water – a small number of motorists have already become stranded in their vehicles.
"Motorists should not be unduly worried by this as it is not causing significant problems but should be prepared for the wet weather."
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said it has received dozens of call-outs across the county between 6am and 10am this morning.
Severe flooding was reported in the Guildhall Lane and Gramball Lane area of Wedmore due to a swollen river, with water up to 3ft deep in some properties.
Flooding led to several vehicles stuck in floodwater on the A361 at Greinton, leading to the temporary closure of the road.
There was also a vehicle reported stuck in floodwater on the Shurton to Hinkley Point road, Storgursey.
