Arthur Spencer, who served with RAF Bomber Command during the last war, will be giving a talk at the Create Centre at the Cumberland Basin on Wednesday, March 20 at 7pm (for 7.30pm).

A £3.50 contribution includes a glass of wine or a soft drink.

As a Lancaster bomber navigator, Arthur took part in the famous August 1943 raid on the Nazi's V1 and V2 rocket sites at Peenemunde.

A teacher at Bedminster Down School, he later moved to Weston-super-Mare to become head teacher at Priory Community School.

The evening will also include a display of photos from the Hotwells,Clifton and Cliftonwood's history society's collection relating to the war years, including the use of the Clifton Rocks railway as a refuge.

If you have any gas masks, ration books, etc, or wartime photos that you would like to share, then please bring them along.
