Dog mess offenders could be put in the frame by covert photographers
A bid to clamp down on dog fouling in the village of could see villagers photographing offenders and sending their mugshots off in the hope they will be prosecuted.
Residents have become so fed up with the amount of dogs' mess littering the streets of the town they have launched a zero tolerance policy against irresponsible owners.
Now Wiltshire councillor for Mere George Jeans has recruited a covert team of photographers from the local community, ready to snap offending owners in the act and hand the evidence to the local authority.
On-the-spot fines of £80 can be issued by Wiltshire Council for allowing a pet dog to foul a public place. Offenders can also be prosecuted in court.

“:| Joe horses are herbivores. . Dogs and cats, like badgers, are carnivores and produce very foul smelling faecal excreta. You are letting your bigotry get the better of you I feel.”

“How about extending this to cat owners who let their pets foul in public as well as damage other people's property?
How about horse riders? Dog mess is small potatoes next to a pile of horse droppings. If it's £80 for dogs, just think how much revenue the council could get from horses.”
