Dog found hanged in woods killed in 'deliberate and cruel act'
A dog found hanged in rural Somerset may have been killed deliberately, police say.
A family out horse-riding made the grim discovery. The dog, a lurcher, was seen hanging from a trailer at a property on Stonage Lane, Haselbury Plucknett, near Crewkerne, shortly before 2pm on Sunday.

The family contacted police, who would like to hear from anyone who was walking in the area at the time and may have information which could help.
Inspector Jackie Gold, who was on duty at the time, said: “The death of an animal is always upsetting when it may have been done intentionally. On this occasion, the animal was found by a family out horse riding and they were understandably upset by their discovery.
