Doctor overcomes pain barrier for marathons
A Wells doctor is looking for sponsorship as he prepares for a double marathon challenge.
Mike Pearce, who is based at Wells City Practice, will be running the London Marathon in April after warming up with the Bath Half Marathon on March 3.
As if this wasn't challenge enough Mike has suffered with severe arthritis since his teens.
He has had several operations and has to take tablets everyday.

Understandably, Mike's chosen charity is Arthritis Care, who support the ten million adults and ten thousand children in the UK with Arthritis.
He has set himself a target of £2,000 for the good cause.
Mike said: "In my work I see many people with arthritis and I want to encourage others to exercise and help dispel the myth that exercising with arthritis is bad for you.
"The benefits of exercise are several fold and include improving mood.
"This is especially important as it's well known that people with chronic painful conditions are at risk of depression.
"There are very few reasons as to why someone shouldn't exercise.
"There are precautions to take, especially if you've had a joint replacement or have other significant ill health, but there is always some form of exercise that people can do, no matter what."
Anyone wishing to find out more about the work of Arthritis Care can visit their website www.arth ritiscare.org.uk.
