Batcombe Film Society's next screening will be of William Shakespeare's Coriolanus (15).

In his acclaimed directorial debut, Ralph Fiennes has set Shakespeare's play in the modern Balkans and produced a visceral, action-packed film.

Fiennes plays the inflexible General, contemptuous of the hungry citizens' demands that grain be released from the city warehouses.

A successful raid on the Voscian city of Corioles diverts attention but his honesty and refusal to compromise lead to his going into exile and a doomed alliance with the Voscian commander Tullus Aufidius.
