HENLEY 71 CLIFTON 7

Fly-half James Comben was the inspiration behind an efficient Henley side as they outclassed Clifton.

The 23-year-old scored 26 points which included two fine tries as well as kicking eight conversions.

Scrum-half Jamie Allen was a late call up and Director of Rugby Darren Lloyd will be pleased with the form he showed on his senior debut.

Also making his senior debut was centre Richard Kevern a summer signing from Camborne but he was forced out of the action at the break with a calf injury.

Clifton also lost the services of winger Ben Foley at the start of the second half and he was replaced by another debutant in Will Watson.

Henley's other tries came from Matt Payne (2), Danny Wells (2), Richie Stapley, Martin Nutt, Richard Briggs, Dai Maddocks and Ant Brennan.

Clifton's try came from James Golledge with fly-half Ben Roberts converting.
