Delight for Radstock gardeners in South West in Bloom contest
Avid gardeners are celebrating after success at the annual South West in Bloom competition.
The green-fingered residents of Radstock managed to beat competition from seaside town Dartmouth to walk away with the Ayre Cup and gold for celebrating the 40th anniversary of the closing of the last of the Somerset-coalfield mines.
The town also had huge success in the It's Your Neighbourhood category, as well as certificates for outstanding achievement to a number of local schools.
Paulton's first ever entry in the competition resulted in major success for the village as the community effort was crowned the best in the South West.

Volunteers were awarded the Michael McGahey Trophy for Exceptional Community Effort, were joint winners of the Vic Verrier Cup for the best New Entry and were given a silver gilt.
Chew Valley village Chew Magna secured silver in the Mary Mortimer Trophy and Camerton won silver gilt in the pennant village to small town category.
