Delicatessen aiming to expand to offer more indoor seating
A DELICATESSEN in Cheap Street, Frome, is looking to expand into the shop next door to give space for more indoor seating.
Sagebury Fine Food Ltd, owned by Paul Dumpleton, of Bath, hopes to present the new shop with a more spacious feel for customers to browse, within a time frame of three months.
Mr Dumpleton said: "At the moment we have one table indoors, and additional tables outdoors over the summer, to serve our freshly produced food, tea and coffee.
The idea is to double the size for customers to come in and taste, smell and browse through the local products."

The list of products sold in Sagebury Fine Food is long including cheese, cooked meat, snacks, oils, vinegar and salads, all from local farms and producers, which are not duplicated in supermarkets.
Mr Dumpleton said: "We give the busy people a helping hand by making snacks, savoury pastries and dips which is best homemade. We cook and prepare it in our upstairs full working kitchen."
The shop has been a delicatessen for 15 years and five of them have been under the ownership of Mr Dumpleton.
Beside the normal opening hours, Sagebury Fine Food does catering for events and take part in the Frome Cheese Show and other local markets to give local support.
Asked what he thought of Frome as a shopping destination, Mr Dumpleton said: "People seem to be impressed by all the independent shops and that works in favour for them and us as business. In order to stay independent we need help from Frome Town Council and Mendip District Council and putting up the rates with six per cent in recession is not helping.
"More could be done in the town centre to make it more family-friendly with new facilities such as public toilets, car parking and more zebra crossing especially on a busy road like Market Place."
