Dead tree landed inches from Tadley Acres homes
TADLEY Acres residents were left reeling when a tree felled by tree surgeons landed inches from their front door steps.
The dead tree was cut down by tree surgeons from M Parsons Tree Surgery-Arborist.
Mark Parsons said: “The tree went 90 degrees the wrong way but I knew it wasn’t going to hit the properties because I measured it first.
“It was so dead inside, and that’s part of the reason it went the wrong way.

“We didn’t warn people because if it went the right way it was going to land in the field.”
Roy Ellis, who lives in Holly Lane, said: “They didn’t tell us they were going to do it – anyone would have been killed. It came down right across the path and landed in front of doors.”
Paula Thicke, whose daughter lives in Holly Lane, said: “My daughter was in her house with her young children in the living room when she heard a loud bang and all she could see out the window was the tree.
“It was extremely irritating and there was no warning – all front doors along there were blocked.
“What if people had gone outside when the tree was coming down?”
