There was nothing wrong with their satellite navigation equipment, but the film production company making new ITV drama Broadchurch, on tonight at 9pm, spent much of their time filming the new Dorset-based crime series in North Somerset.

West Dorset was also used for location work but parts of Clevedon, and Portishead were transformed into the fictional town of Broadchurch, home to police officers played by David Tennant and Olivia Coleman.

“all the mainstream press reviews and feeds today trend to indicate this drama has been well received and is pretty good....i liked it.
we all loved the Marples, the Sweeney and all the TV murder mysteries from the past so now we have new great actors so give it chance!
if you don't like murder mystery whether on your patch or not then don't watch it...simples

i really do not understand all the negative comments so far posted today on the Dorset Echo online but it seems most of their readers are manic depressives and nimby s lol

the fact that this is 'local' drama and modern i have no issue...death happens anywhere and involving teenagers is sadly now the latest fact of life.
if you watch Emmerdale , Corrie etc then death happens almost on a nightly basis...do the Yorkshire dales folk or Manchesters finest whinge about it being on their patch hmm no,
as for Eastenders eeew now that's depressing. lol

ITV did not do a bad job and i found it gripping and most watchable and am looking forward to the next episode.
my only critique in the story-line is that is seems at this early stage in plot to been similar to the recent drama ''a mothers son'' however i like David Tenant and many of the other cast and enjoyed the programme.”
