Dynaste, who was turned over at a short price in the Cheltenham Festival Jewson Novices’ Chase by Benefficient, may bid to redeem his reputation at Aintree.

Trainer David Pipe thought long and hard about which race to run the grey in after he bolted up in the three-mile Feltham Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

He came down on the side of the two-and-a-half-mile race at Cheltenham and he is faced with options again at Aintree with the Grade One Manifesto Chase over the same trip as the Jewson or the Mildmay Novices’ Chase over three miles.

“Dynaste produced a valiant effort in the Jewson but was just run out of it after the last by Benefficient,” said Pipe.

“Nevertheless he has come out of his race fresh and in good order and could yet go to Aintree where the flat track is expected to suit him well.

“He remains a horse to be very excited about for the future.”

Aintree may also be on the cards for Pipe’s promising novice Broadway Buffalo, who missed Cheltenham.

“We decided to sidestep Cheltenham with him in order to gain some further experience but he should be more than capable of holding his own in stronger company and could head to Aintree or the Punchestown Festival in the coming weeks,” added Pipe.

“Now unbeaten in five starts and with boundless potential, he remains a very exciting youngster to look forward to.”
