Dad's memory inspires a cake bonanza
A DETERMINED Chard mum raised more than £150 with a bake sale as part of a national fundraising event.
The morning of cakes and coffee was organised by Daisy Banks to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support at The Unit in Chard.
Mrs Banks arranged the sale on Sunday in memory of her beloved dad Mickey Donoghue who passed away at the end of February.
She has thanked participants for their support.

She said: "The coffee morning went really well and we raised £153.70 with more to collect and extra cakes to sell.
"The stalls who attended were Forget Me Knot Creations by Katy Rowswell, Body Shop by Emma Reed, Simply Portugal Soaps by Lesley Collins and Julie's Jolly Bags by Julie Rudkin with a helping hand from Maria Frecknall.
"Lots of cakes were made and donated by locals for the coffee morning and a big thanks has to go to Bea Holmes and Louise Clarke who helped with the baking of the cakes.
"I also need to say a big thank you to Yellow Bird Interior, Elisha's Sew Pretty by Zara and other locals who donated raffle prizes."
