There will be a special showing of the film Doctor Zhivago at Frome's Merlin Theatre on St Valentine's Day.

This classic British film by David Lean is based on the Nobel Prize-winning novel by Boris Pasternak, Doctor Zhivago covers the years prior to, during, and after the Russian Revolution, as seen through the eyes of poet/physician Yuri Zhivago.

Starring Omar Sharif, Geraldine Chaplin, (Julie Christie, Rod Steiger and Alec Guinness.

The film show is being organised by Frome Selwood Rotary Club.

The film starts at 3pm and tickets cost £8.

Proceeds raised by Rotary on the day will be donated to local charity Positive Action on Cancer.
