Cult figure Ashman lines up gigs
SINGER Ian Ashman is set to play a series of solo gigs in the area next month.
The enigmatic cult singer is set to play several nights in the region including The Captain's Cabin in Weston-super-Mare, on Tuesday, October 2, and The Fishponds Tavern on Friday, October 5. A secret gig in Bristol is also being planned.
Most people will know Mr Ashman for his partnership with The Breakdowns and his contribution to the Bristol music scene.
Originally forming in 1979, Ian Ashman and The Breakdowns were friends with the likes of Johnny Rotten and the Sex Pistols. They peaked in 1985 with the release of the now much sought after single Cheap Talk.
