Crispin School launches appeal to fund new £2.2m science building

Crispin School in Street has launched a fundraising campaign to build a £2.2 million state of the art science building.

The new building will provide eight new laboratories complete with state of the art equipment, an IT/Data logging facility, preparation rooms and a staff office.

Paul James, Headmaster at Crispin School, said: "Currently our Science results are excellent, however, our current Science facilities are tired and out of date.

"We believe that if we are to continue to deliver excellent results in this area, our pupils need and deserve excellent facilities.

The school has already raised £500,000 from public donations and has pledged £700,000 towards the build out of its own pockets.

Local MP Tessa Munt, helped launch the fundraising appeal last week.

"Helping in any way I can with schools like Crispin is one of the joys of my job," she said.

"I know that Crispin recognize the importance of science to the students and ultimately the country."
