A court order banning the identification in the press of a teenage girl accused of murdering a man in Wells has been lifted.

Stacey Hyde, who is now 18 and no longer qualifies for the section 39 order to protect juveniles in the news, is accused of killing Vincent Francis.

Hyde, of Reid Court, Charter Way, Wells, has denied murdering 33-year-old Mr Francis on September 4 last year.

She appeared via video link from prison at Bristol Crown Court for a brief hearing to discuss the progress of the case ahead of her trial on March 8. The teenager was sat behind a small table in a video conference room at HMP Eastwood Park and wiped away tears as details of expert reports were discussed.

Mr Francis died of stab wounds at the Royal United Hospital in Bath after emergency services were called to an address in Charter Way, Wells, in the early hours of Friday, September 4, 2009.
