Couple the target of attack by gang on New Year's Day
POLICE have this week appealed for witnesses to an assault in Yeovil in the early hours of New Year's Day.
A man and a woman were walking home along King Street at around 2am when they were approached by two men in their mid-teens.
They were then joined by some older teenagers and the man was punched and kicked. His girlfriend had to intervene and was injured as a result.
Officers investigating the incident have released descriptions of three men.

One was aged 14-16 years old, around 5'7" to 5'8" tall, average build, blond shoulder length hair and a baseball cap. He may have been referred to as Charlie.
Another was aged 14-16 years old, 5'7" to 5'8" tall, of average build and short black hair. He was wearing a black baseball cap, white high-top trainers and dark-blue jeans.
The third was aged 17-18 years old, with short dark hair, 5'9" and wearing all dark clothing. He may have been referred to as Jamie.
