Frome Town Councillor Eve Berry was presented with the Lawn Tennis Association Meritorius Service Award recently.

She was a guest of honour of the LTA at the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton, where she joined other award recipients for a gourmet lunch before enjoying a tour of the facilities.

The LTA's annual meeting followed, ending with the presentation of the awards.

Berry, who was nominated by Frome Selwood Tennis Club, has provided many years of service both as a player and captain of various teams and as the official referee of their annual LTA ratings tournament.

"I am more than overwhelmed to be considered for such an honour and am delighted to accept it for myself and the people of Frome," she said.
