Corrie star helps woo the crowds
Soap star Michelle Keegan mingled with the crowds as Truckfest roared into Somerset.
Keegan, who plays Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street, added some celebrity glamour to the annual two-day event, which attracted thousands of visitors from across the region.
Celebrating everything lorry-like, the annual event at the Royal Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, hosted 1,000 trucks of all sizes, ages and colours. There were monster trucks, stunt drivers and even a few famous faces to keep the crowds busy.
On Sunday, the main grandstand had never been so popular, as it provided welcome respite from the baking sunshine, and every shady spot was taken.
St John Ambulance was busy, with many cases of sunburn and sunstroke, and organisers broadcast repeated warnings to visitors to cover up, drink water and use sun cream.
Truckfest representative Andrea Seed said: “People have made a real weekend of it – we put on a fun fair, there were children’s characters wandering around and there’s been a really good atmosphere the whole weekend.”
